Hernia

What is Hernia?

A hernia occurs when the internal organs of the abdominal cavity bulge around the muscular wall that usually keeps them in place. There are other causes of hernia as well. They include consuming tobacco or smoking, poor nutrition, or chronic constipation, etc. The areas where a hernia might occur are the abdomen, upper thigh area, belly button, or groins. There are rare cases where muscle weakness is present at the time of birth leading to chances of hernia in an infant, but in general, it occurs later in life.
